Congratulations to Remon Rooij on becoming the new 4TU.CEE chair

The 4TU Education board has appointed TUD-Bouwkunde colleague assoc.prof. dr. Remon Rooij as the new chair/scientific director of the 4TU Centre for Engineering Education from July 2023 onwards. Remon already acts as the co-leader of 4TU.CEE for TU Delft together with Prof. Marcus Specht and is involved in several 4TU.CEE education innovation and pedagogical research projects. He will succeed Prof. Perry den Brok (WUR), who acted as 4TU.CEE chair since January 2018. We congratulate Remon – who also is TU Delft’s institutional CDIO leader – warmly on this new position.

The 4TU.Centre for Engineering Education aims to jointly inspire, stimulate, support, and disseminate effective and high-quality engineering education through pedagogical research and the application of evidence-informed education innovations. Furthermore, 4TU.CEE facilitates university teaching staff to improve their teaching competencies by developing, exploring, demonstrating, and sharing the newest teaching methods. An explicit task of 4TU.CEE is to contribute to the international community of engineering education and to seek cooperation where appropriate. 4TU.CEE collaborates with educational communities such as SEFI, CDIO, and related organisations. 4TU.CEE organises a variety of conferences, seminars, webinars, and workshops on Engineering Education. These events provide a platform for TU teaching staff to present and discuss their experiences and get inspired in a(n) (inter)national setting. See here for CEE’s event program.
