VIDI grant for Giorgia Giardina

NWO awarded a VIDI grant to Giorgia Giardina to further expand her research into monitoring the safety of bridges from space and to set up her own innovative research line. ‘Many bridges all over the world are at risk of collapse because of their age and the effects of climate change. I will use satellite data to automatically check the safety of bridges on a national scale, helping to decide which ones need immediate repair’ says Giardina.
