The TU Delft has drawn up a set of house rules. These rules and regulations relate to the proper use of the buildings, grounds and facilities of TU Delft by students and visitors.
HOUSE RULES X
X subscription compulsory
You may only use the X facilities if you have a valid X subscription, which you must present to the staff on request. If you have received an X card, than this is your personal property, so do not mislay or damage it. In case of loss, theft or serious damage you can purchase a replacement card for € 7.50.
To register for a ticket hour log in to the website. Registration is possible from 13:00 on the day of class. If you do not have a netID, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org before 13:00. Please pick up your ticket from the Hosts, at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the ticket hour. In case you are too late, your spot will be granted to someone on the reserve list.
If the ticket hour is fully booked, it is possible to be added to the reserve list. You can be placed on the reserve list 30 minutes prior to the start of the hour. First come, first serve. If a spot opens up, you can partake in the ticket hour after all.
Report missing cards..Prevent misuse!
The use of Campus cards and/or X-cards is strictly personal at all times. It is not permitted to make use of someone else's Campus card and/or X-card (one you have found, for example). In order to prevent loss and/or misuse, we advise you to report your lost Campus card and/or X-card to the Hosts. Unfortunately, X has been compelled to take measures against the illegitimate use of X subscriptions: X subscriptions that are used without authorisation will be deactivated and only returned to the legitimate owner if they have been previously reported as missing.
You can use the general sports card to participate in all activities, with the exception of activities for which additional charges apply, such as fitness.
Sporters are expected to show sporting behaviour wherever they are: on the field, in the sports hall, on the track, in the Sports cafe, etc.
Refund of purchase price of sports card
From 17 August 2015, the modified refund regulations will apply. These regulations will replace the current refund regulations and meet the demands of the large number of students who already know for certain at the beginning of the academic year that they will only participate in the study programme of TU Delft until February at the latest.
A student who buys a sports card in the period from August to January and can prove that he/she will return to a foreign country, do an internship or study in a foreign country in January will immediately receive a refund when he/she purchases the sports card. In this period, a fixed refund amount of €58 applies, meaning that the student only has to pay the netted amount of €52 (€110 - €58).
The following documents must be submitted to the Hosts:
- Internship agreement (stating the commencing date) or enrolment notice for the study programme, with the deadline falling on 01-02-2016.
- Example 1
If the student purchases a sports card in September and can prove that he/she will go (or return) to a foreign country in January, he/she will pay €52. The sports card is valid up to and including 31 January 2016 in this case.
- Example 2
If the student purchases a sports card in November and can prove that he/she will go (or return) to a foreign country in January, he/she will pay €52. The sports card is valid up to and including 31 January 2016 in this case.
- Example 3
If the student purchases a sports card in September for a full year, he/she will pay €110. If the student decides in January to do an internship in a foreign country at the end of March, he/she can choose to have €58 refunded to him/her afterwards. The sports card is valid up to and including 31 January 2016 in this case. If the student wishes to continue to do sports up to and including March, he/she can do so, but he/she will no longer be entitled to a refund.
Please note that the modified refund regulations always prescribe a fixed refund amount of €58, applicable up to and including 31 January 2016. Given the fact that the rates of the sports card will be frequently changed as of 1 February 2016, a refund will no longer be granted after this date.
In case of injuries, refunds will be considered on an individual basis. A statement from a doctor must be provided in the event of injuries.
- Always wear sportswear when using the facilities.
- Sports shoes for indoor use must be clean and may not be used outdoors.
- Sports shoes that leave marks on the floor (mainly black-soled shoes) are prohibited in the sports halls.
- Shoes with metal studs are prohibited on the artificial grass fields.
- Tennis shoes are compulsory on the SmashCourt courts.
- The Dojo may only be entered barefoot or when wearing special footwear specifically intended for this purpose.
A number of dangerous sports, such as climbing and fencing, may only be practised in the presence of an instructor.
Clean up after use
Leave all rooms (sports halls, changing rooms, etc.) behind in a clean and tidy state. Failure to do so may result in the user being charged for cleaning costs.
Use of the rooms
By purchasing a subscription (music, dance & theatre, DJ, theatre, film and photo) you get access to a wide range of rooms. The instruments and equipment are valuable, which is why we have a number of rules that apply to all users. We expect you to be familiar with these rules. Please consult the Hosts if you wish more information.
Workpieces made at the Unit Culture remain the property of X for two months after being created. After this period they may be collected. X stores unclaimed workpieces until the beginning of the new academic year, after which they will permanently become the property of X, whereby X also reserves the right to use them in publications.
If you discover or cause damage to materials or facilities, please report this to the Hosts immediately so that we can repair the damage quickly. Damage caused by negligent behaviour will be charged to the person responsible.
Lost and found property
Have you lost or found property? Please report this to the Hosts. If you have lost property the Hosts will note down your name and telephone number.
Food and beverages
It is not permitted to consume, distribute or sell food and beverages on the sports fields or in the rooms and halls. Food and beverages may only be consumed in the X cafe.
Policy dictates that all X facilities are non-smoking.
Leaving rooms in their original configuration
The rooms and halls must be left in a clean and tidy condition and be returned to their original configuration. In each room you will find a chart with this original configuration displayed on it. If you use a room then you are responsible for returning it to the original configuration after use. If necessary we will charge any extra cleaning costs to the hirer/user.
It is not permitted to move equipment between the various rooms. If you notice that something is missing from a room, or the room is not in its original configuration, please report this to the Hosts.
