The offer varies from courses, ticket hours, events and projects to, for example, free use of a student kitchen and living room and self-initiated activities and/or programming.
Job description
X TU Delft is looking for an experienced judo trainer, who can give trainings at the level of beginners and the level of advanced practisers. Lessons will be given for people with an X subscription, but also as part of the sessions of the association DSBV Yoroshi. The lessons of Yoroshi are aimed for judoka with previous experience in judo. The group is a highly motivated mix of very experienced judokas (black belt) and some enthusiastic beginners. The evening of these training courses can be planned to a limited extent in consultation with the candidate and preferably takes place on: Monday, Tuesday and/or Thursday.
You will become part of a dynamic and international work environment with motivated and enthusiastic students and colleagues.
Job requirements
- You have an affinity with students.
- You are an experienced Judoka (at least 1st dan) and having previous teaching experience is a pré.
- You are ambitious and enthusiastic.
- You are flexible and involved.
- You have a good command of the Dutch and/or English language, both spoken and written.
Terms and conditions of employment
We offer you the possibility to work as a self-employed person according to an established contract or to work as a teacher via an agreement with employment agency Unique. ESA
The university corporate office Education & Student Affairs (ESA) provides educational support by taking care of education and student administration, coordinating education policy, supporting and supervising Dutch and international students and PhD candidates, providing training in teaching and other areas, giving educational advice and support and organising sport and culture activities. ESA is made up of the departments Education Service Centre, Academic Services, Extension School and X. ESA employs around 250 staff. The primary aim of X TU Delft (X) is to stimulate and facilitate the personal development of students and their connection with the academic community at TU Delft. The three pillars of Products, Systems and Communication together make X's offer possible, in which some 15,000 students and staff members participate each year. Themes that underpin X’s programming are lifestyle, reflection, sports, games, arts and crafts. Thanks to the help of students (organisations), teachers and trainers, X is able to provide an attractive programme of courses, ticket hours, events and projects. In addition, students can initiate their own programming and/or activities and can make free use of facilities such as a student kitchen and student living room.
Staff members of X are characterised by their strong ambition to contribute to and participate in the personal development of people in general and students in particular. They are also committed to their own personal development and they have a strong capacity to learn.
Sports & Games
The Sports & Games cluster is part of the Products pillar and is responsible for the programme offer in the field of ball sports, e-sports, games, strength sports, outdoor, racket sports, Martial Arts and defence sports and water sports. In daily practice, this translates into the development, realisation and facilitation of ticket hours, courses, competitions, events and other initiatives. The team consists of 3 staff members, 2 student employee and works closely together with around 80 teachers and 40 student association boards.
Martial arts & Defence
As part of the broad programme of activities, X offers a diverse range of martial arts and defence sports, varying from 'harder' martial arts (such as boxing, Thai boxing and MMA) to Japanese martial arts (judo, jiu jitsu, karate, aikido, taekwondo). Together with krav maga and fencing, they form the total programme Martial Arts & Defence. This programme is given shape through weekly lessons that are timetabled per quarter (ticket hours), through series of lessons of 7 consecutive weeks (courses) and through the activities of student-budo association Yoroshi. Occasionally, professional events also take place.
DSBV Yoroshi
Delftse Studenten Budo Vereniging Yoroshi is the budosport association at TU Delft. It offers four different sports: Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Karate and Krav Maga. Our goal is to create an environment with enthusiastic members who like to do sports and socialize; a place where you can grow and where relaxation and sports are being combined; a challenge for both beginners, advanced, and everyone in between.
The association hours are offered by DSBV Yoroshi. These hours are for members which have previous experience in the specific sport. During the association hours, Yoroshi also offer sometimes workshops/exchanges during which we collaborate with other sport associations/dojo’s and also belt exams will take place once a year.
