Job Description
X is a place on the TU Delft campus where young people (especially our students) can develop in the fields of sports, games, arts, crafts, lifestyle and reflection. A special place where everyone feels at home and can reach his/her full potential. As an employee logistics and production, you are indispensable for the perfect preparation and organisation of the activities we organise. You will also take care of the purchasing and stock management of everything we need at X for our enormously wide range of activities.

Yoga lessons, football matches, dance events, workshops, introductory sessions: you name it, we organise it for our thousands of visitors and customers. It is no coincidence that we, as X, now play a central role in the TU Delft community. And you help us make all these activities possible. You take on a proactive role during the preparations, making sure for instance that the sound system and chairs are arranged and facilitating all activities in the broadest sense. Partly thanks to you, our visitors can look back on a great experience at X every time!

You are a first point of contact for customers and visitors. Moreover, you interact with many colleagues within X and departments at TU Delft. A very varied job in a dynamic environment. This is within our nice team Logistics & Production in which we are responsible for the facilities support of X with a total of five permanent colleagues and fifteen student employees. 

Job Requirements

  • You have completed at least an education at MBO level;
  • You have at least two years (recent) work experience in facility management;
  • You have showable experience with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • You find it genuinely interesting to work with young people and organise fun activities for them.
  • You work in a precise and structured way, take initiative, are creative in your solutions and like to ensure that people enjoy themselves and are well served.
  • You can work well both independently and with others.
  • You have no problem working evenings and weekends.
  • You have an affinity with the programme of X;
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
The position has a scope of 36 - 40 hours. It concerns a 1-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment.  The salary is based on scale 6 of the Collective Labour Agreement of the Dutch Universities. You will be graded on the basis of knowledge and experience.

Education & Student Affairs
Education & Student Affairs (ESA) provides educational support in the form of education and student administration, coordinating education policies, supporting and supervising (international) students and PhD candidates, providing training in teaching and other areas, offering educational advice and support, and organising sports and cultural activities. ESA comprises the Education Service Centre, Academic Services, the Extension School and X, with a total of approximately 250 staff. ESA is known within TU Delft for the high quality of its service, and has a proactive and solution-oriented culture.

The primary aim of X TU Delft (X) is to stimulate and facilitate the personal development of students and their connection with the academic community at TU Delft. This means that X is a place is a place on campus where you can develop in areas that are not always part of the academic curriculum, but invaluable none the less. The three pillars of Products, Systems and Communication together make X's offer possible, in which some 15,000 students and staff members participate each year. Themes that underpin X’s programming are lifestyle, reflection, sports, games, arts and crafts. Thanks to the help of students (organisations), teachers and trainers, X is able to provide an attractive programme of courses, ticket hours, events and projects. In addition, students can initiate their own programming and/or activities and can make free use of facilities such as a student kitchen and student living room.

Staff members of X are characterised by their strong ambition to contribute to and participate in the personal development of people in general and students in particular. They are also committed to their own personal development and they have a strong capacity to learn.

The Systems department helps to make the X programme offer possible. The team is responsible for the daily operations of X in the field of HR, ICT, Finance, procurement, accommodation management, planning and process optimisation. On daily basis, this translates into providing stable and professional support to the primary tasks of X, in the form of (policy) guidance, advice and operational support. The team consists of 16 permanent employees and is supported by student employees.

The department Accommodation & Services is responsible for the management of the accommodation and its facilities. This department is divided into two divisions, Maintenance and Logistics & Production (L&P). L&P is responsible for the facilitative support for the use of the accommodation and facilities of X, by employees and customers of X. L&P consists of a Supervisor, five permanent employees and about ten student employees.
