E-sports (short for Electronic Sports) is a type of ‘sport’ that is based on electronic systems – especially video games. The sports element comes from the competitions, where competitors need to have good strategic insight, work well as a team and have excellent skills in order to win. Staying focused is essential; sometimes you have less than a second to make a decision. Players need to be able to react quickly and make good judgement calls. The games are often played in a team; good communication and coordination are important in this sport.

E-sports association DSEA organizes e-sports activities in cooperation with X. The association organises LAN parties. The first half of the evening is for free play and the second half is for playing new and interesting multiplayer games, such as ‘League of Legends’, ‘Counter-Strike’ and ‘Super Smash Brothers: Melee’. The LAN parties are a great way to meet new players in the e-sports community and form teams for playing in online competitions.
