Freetown is the free haven of X and TU Delft. It is a place where freedom reigns, where students are expected to show initiative and a sense of responsibility. Surrounded by rooms where students play music, practise their manual skills and make theatre, Freetown lives and breathes creativity. Here, you find spaces with their own character. For example, you can unwind in the living room, prepare a delicious meal in the kitchen, customise room 404 or catch a ray of sunshine in the garden. Here, you meet people with various backgrounds. Expect the unexpected.
Sick and tired of the sight of the university library and your student house after a long day of studying? Then come to the Living room in Freetown, the ideal place to chill. Play board games with your friends or people you just met in Freetown. Sit down at the big table to eat a meal freshly prepared in the kitchen. Or simply flop into one of the comfy sofas for some ‘me time’ with a book. It's entirely up to you - anything goes.
As of June 1, the kitchen is open again!
Celebrate your culinary party and cook your own meal in the Freetown kitchen. For yourself or invite your friends for a delicious dinner. The kitchen is a nice place where, just like in a hostel, you can easily meet and talk to others. So you can eat a meal together at a large table.
The kitchen also organizes all kinds of culinary activities. You can go there daily and use it free of charge.
Reserve a cooking island
There are three cooking islands that can be reserved. A blue one, a pink one and a green one.
Find all information about the kitchen here.
Note: Someone might already be cooking at your reserved island. Show them the confirmation mail of your booking to inform the host of your booking.
Long live freedom! The campus has gained a freezone, a place where anything goes. It's a place where unbridled freedom and expression set the standard. This zone provides a unique living lab designed to inspire creativity. How do you turn nothing into something? And what will you do when you're given total freedom? The zone itself is practically empty, but it doesn't have to stay that way! Use all the facilities you can find at X and turn it into whatever you like.
