We have three kitchen islands: a yellow, a blue and a pink island all marked with an X in their designated colour. The blue and yellow kitchen island can be reserved online, and the pink kitchen island can be reserved at the host desk. In order to keep everything as tidy as possible, we have chosen to work with a reservation process and a crate system. This way, we keep the necessary cooking utensils and crockery together and stimulate the cleaning process, which is inextricably linked to being the boss in your own kitchen. You will receive the crate from the hosts.

Choose your kitchen island and follow the next steps to reserve:

  1.  Show your online reservation at the hosts in the entrance hall or reserve the pink kitchen island on the spot.

  2. You receive a crate with basic kitchen inventory and a key to a kitchen cupboard with more cooking utensils. You leave behind your TU campus card or X card as a deposit. Both the crate contents, the cupboard and the cooking island should be clean and fully stocked (see inventory list). If this is not the case please report it to the hosts so that we can act accordingly.

  3. You go to the Freetown kitchen and have 2 hours at your designated cooking island to prepare your meal and clean your island.

  4. You enjoy your meal in the living room or at one of the tables in the foyer.

  5. You clean your dishes in the pantry kitchen* and return them to the (clean) crate.
*The pantry kitchen is the room behind the fridge.

  6. You clean your ktichen island for the next chef. After cleaning, your island should look like the photo in the cleaning list. Please make a similar picture of your cleaning efforts that you show the hosts when returning your crate.

  7. You return the crate to the hosts and show them a picture of your clean kitchen island. If something in the inventory is broken, no problem. Just make sure to let us know so we can replace it.

  8. The hosts return you your TU campus card or X card, and we hope to see you again!
