A song is a musical composition, often performed with vocals and accompanied by at least one instrument. The art of songwriting is bringing elements together in a song in such a way that the result is nice to listen to. Especially in pop music, it is additionally important that the melodies are easy to follow to create a "catchy" song.

In this course, you will learn more on how to bring lyrics, chords and melodies together to create a song. Explore tools like chord progressions, song structures and rhyme schemes to tell your story.

During this course, your teacher can also help you combine your songwriting with performance, for example how to play and sing at the same time.

Please note: for Songwriting, enrol with our teachers Annika Boxhoorn or Marvin Dee. In the webshop, you enrol for a time slot with the combined name "Singing / Songwriting". You can tell your teacher in the first lesson what you want to focus on. This may be songwriting only, or singing only, or a combination of the two.
