Wave surfing is a water sport in which the surfer uses the power of the waves to glide towards the beach. Waves come in all shapes and sizes, depending on the coastline, direction and strength of the current. A surfer tries to gain as much speed as possible by looking for the right part of the wave.

Board sports association DROP Delft organises various wave surfing activities, such as clinics, excursions and lessons, in collaboration with X. You can only participate in the wave surfing activities as a member of this association. These activities are organised regularly.

DROP has a lot of enthusiastic members who surf at all levels, from beginners to advanced. There are no fixed training times, but if the weather is good you’ll always be able to find someone at your level to go and practice with. In addition, surfing trips to popular destinations such as France, England and Morocco are organised at least twice a year.

Although you might not expect it, in the Netherlands you can ride the waves at least a few times a month on average. In winter, it is often very cold and you need to wear warm clothes, but that’s when the waves are at their best. It’s much more pleasant to surf in summer, but the waves are often smaller.
