31/05 Theatre Play: The Taming of the Shrew (1)

31 mei 2018 20:30 t/m 21:30 - Door: Communication

S&C’s Theatre Production group presents a contemporary version of Taming of the Shrew. This 500-year-old Shakespeare play is about the restrictiveness of gender roles, and thus still extremely topical. Come, and see it yourself!

Katherine, the shrew, speaks her mind and refuses to do anything she doesn’t feel like doing. And because of that, no man is interested in marrying her. Her little sister Bianca is her opposite; sweet, calm and obedient.

Their father decides that Kat needs to marry first, and only then can someone ask for Bianca’s hand. It seems an impossible task to find a suitor brave enough, but then Petruchio hears about this pretty, feisty and rich girl. Can he tame Katherine into an obedient wife? Or are they a match made in heaven?

The Theatre Production group’s version of The Shrew is about girls, boys, stupid sexist remarks, fear of being yourself, awkward first dates, frat guys, bimbo’s and tutu’s. And they would love to see you at one of the two shows on 31 May and 5 June.

You can buy your ticket at the door just before the start of the play at the culture desk for €5.-, or for the early birds: get your pre-sale ticket for only €3.- via the link below. The link will be activated soon.
