6 maart, aanvang 19:30: Opening Force and Resilience, Mangrove foto-expositie van Linnea Frandsen
Van 6 t/m 31 maart zal in de educatieruimte Force and Resilience, de Mangrove foto-expositie van Linnea Frandsen te zien zijn.
‘Up until 2004 25% of the Mangroves was cut down due to infrastructure and tourism in coastal areas.
The damage of the 2004 South East Asia tsunami was worsened because the Mangroves was not there to protect the coasts. Due to anthropogenic climate change, water levels will keep rising and the Mangroves are increasingly important. Now part of the Mangroves are in the protecting hands of the people who once cut them down.
My work is a visual exploration of the Mangroves, as well as an investigation of their resilience. By isolating and bending the Mangroves, I merge human intervention with the Mangroves’ natural force. This is an artistic interpretation of the complex relation between human and nature.’
Linnea is studente fotografie aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten Den Haag.
