Diwali, Deepavali or Dipavali is a four-to-five day festival and is one of the most celebrated festivals in India. It is celebrated to mark the end of all evil and is intended to spread joy and happiness everywhere. With diya’s, oil lamps or candles, they bring offerings to Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and wealth. People wear their most beautiful clothes and exchange sweets depicting the beginning of new friendships and relations.
