Online NL alumni meeting – Hong Kong

08 april 2021 18:00 t/m 19:30 - Locatie: Online (Zoom) | Zet in mijn agenda

On behalf of the Dutch universities and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hong Kong we would like to invite you to a big Zoom meeting on Thursday 8 April from 6pm - 7.30pm (HKT) for all alumni who studied at a Dutch university and who currently live in Hong Kong.

We have an interesting programme for you starting with a word of welcome by Arjen van den Berg, the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We will continue with an inspiring keynote speech by Sjoerd den Daas. Sjoerd is correspondent for the NOS and an alumnus of the University of Groningen. He will share insights into his work in Hong Kong and will talk about press freedom in the region. After the keynote you will get together with your university in a breakout session and of course, we will raise an online toast with you on this unique Zoom meeting.

There is ample time to ask your questions and reconnect with your alma mater, fellow TU Delft alumni, and alumni from other Dutch universities.

You can already read or listen to some of Sjoerd’s articles about the current situation in Hong Kong. Click on the following links to read a recent article for the NOS, watch a short video, and a podcast about the end of democracy in Hong Kong (all in Dutch).
