Abstract
Symmetric encryption (SE) is a useful cryptographic primitive that allows one to perform secure keyword search over an encrypted (&indexed) database.
It can be mainly categorized into asymmetric and symmetric variants. And they nowadays have been deployed in real-world applications, e.g., CipherCloud, bitglass.
In this seminar, we are going to take a journey to SE and its corresponding vulnerabilities.
