Playing with Tensions: the RSD10 Symposium calls for papers

Nieuws - 25 maart 2021 - Communication

The 10th annual Relating Systems Thinking & Design (RSD10) symposium will be held in November this year. Between 3 and 6 November 2021, the RSD10 will offer a platform for discussing ongoing work and present state-of-the-art research in the field of systemic design. The guiding theme “Playing with tensions” exemplifies the current challenges of systemic designers in contributing to a more just and sustainable future: embracing complexity, contradictory concepts and paradoxes while confronting the “pain points".

In preparation for the RSD10 symposium, a call for long and short papers will open on Thursday 1 April. Selected papers will be presented over the course of the symposium which will take place in a hybrid form – online and on campus. Whether through domain-specific, methodological or theoretical contributions, the symposium will focus on areas of systemic design such as breaks in scale, value conflicts, socio-technicality, collaboration and transdisciplinary working, and the combination of thinking, feeling and acting.

The programme will include workshops and interactive activities and will be enriched with system map posters and Gigamaps. A second call will be opened for these posters in the July. For more information about the event, visit the RSD10 website, read the details of the call for papers, and stay tuned for more posts, information and further developments.
