Meet & Eat | A Fun, Creative Approach of setting up a Course for Large Audiences with Andy van den Dobbelsteen | 22 June

22 juni 2021 12:45 t/m 13:30 - Locatie: Online - Door: Teaching Academy | Zet in mijn agenda

About the Event

This Meet & Eat will showcase a creative approach of setting up a course in MOOCs that can easily be adapted to on-campus teaching. Prof. Andy van den Dobbelsteen will share his experience on how the ‘Zero-Energy Design’ course was designed and why it received the edX2020 Price for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching & Learning. It is also a great example of how a course can be set up to thrive before, during and after a crisis period in education.

About Prof.dr.ir. Andy van den Dobbelsteen

Andy van den Dobbelsteen is Full Professor of Climate Design & Sustainability at the Department of Architectural Engineering + Technology.

Andy is a passionate advocate of sustainability, who works in the field of sustainable buildings and sustainable energy systems, as well as climate adaptation: anticipating predicted changes in the climate. Andy is occupied with conducting research and translating findings into solutions, actions and new concepts.

Next to this, Andy is also the TU Delft Sustainability Coordinator for the upcoming four years. In this role, Andy will develop a sustainability vision and programme for the TU Delft campus in which, amongst others, the TU Delft CO2 Roadmap, the Roadmap Circular Campus 2030, and a new form of CO2 accounting will play a major role.

Besides this appointment, Andy won – together with his colleagues Eric van den Ham and Tessa Blom – the 2020 edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning, with their online course “Zero-Energy Design: an approach to make your building sustainable”. Their MOOC is designed to help participants figure out which energy measures can be applied to make their buildings (more) sustainable and zero-energy consuming.
