Overview

DUWIND is a member of the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE). Inspiring researchers from member institutions are invited to present their research. DUWIND is happy to welcome Katherine Dykes, from DTU Wind Energy for their next lecture.

Katherine Dykes is the Head of Section for  Systems Engineering and Optimization at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) Wind Energy.

Her sections competency areas include aero-servo-hydro-elasticity (Multiphysics) wind turbine and plant modelling, turbine and plant controls, and wind plant design optimization.

Katherine’s research over the last decade has involved applying systems engineering to optimization of wind turbine and plant design and operation. At DTU, this includes the development coordination for the TOPFARM wind farm optimization software. She is a co-operating agent for IEA Wind Task 37 on systems engineering applied to wind energy RD&D. She holds a PhD from MIT in engineering systems and a dual-MS from The Ohio State University in electrical engineering and applied economics.
