Lancering: BlendEd Platform

Op 22 september vindt de lancering van het BlendEd Platform plaats. Het BlendEd Platform bestaat uit educatieve video’s over een verscheidenheid aan onderwerpen, van stedelijke ontwikkeling tot sociaalwetenschappelijke vraagstukken en ontwerp/planningsopgaven.

Het project is een samenwerking tussen de faculteit Bouwkunde van de TU Delft (BK) en het Institute for Housing and Urban Studies (IHS) van de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. BlendEd is het startpunt voor nieuwe interdisciplinaire lessen, modules en cursussen in samenwerking met beide instellingen.

Het streeft naar het bevorderen van doorlopende en het vinden van nieuwe gezamenlijke onderwijs initiatieven tussen de twee instellingen, volgens de principes van Blended Learning.

Op 22 september wordt het BlendEd platform feestelijk gelanceerd door het projectteam en alle docenten die hebben bijgedragen aan de video’s. Iedereen die betrokken is bij de onderwijsprogramma's van de TU Delft, IHS of een andere universiteit is van harte uitgenodigd om mee te doen.

Speakers

Prof.ir. Dick van Gameren
Dean, BK TU Delft

Dick van Gameren studied Architecture in Delft, where he graduated cum laude in 1988. He had his own architectural firm for a long time; in 2013 he became a partner at Mecanoo architects in Delft. Over the years he has realized a large number of projects, ranging from exhibition designs to urban master plans. He has been professor of Housing at the Faculty of Architecture since 2006 and he held the position of chair of the Architecture department for 10 years. There he leads an international education and research network that focuses on the problem of affordable housing in explosively growing cities in Asia and Africa. Dick has supported BlendEd as one of the outputs from the BK-IHS cooperation initiative.

Dr. David Dodman
Director, IHS

David Dodman has held positions in universities and policy research institutions and has worked in partnership with international organisations, local and national governments, and civil society organisations. In his former role as Director of the Human Settlements Research Group at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), he has developed and implemented a wide-ranging programme of research on urban adaptation to climate change, has overseen a significant transition in staffing and strategy for a major research group, has led institutional processes on research ethics and research strategy, and has helped to shape organisational initiatives on financial management. Besides that, he works on a part-time basis at the University College London, delivering Masters-level modules and PhD supervision on these topics. David has been appointed as general director of IHS since 1 September.

Dr. Alonso Ayala
Assistant professor, IHS

Alonso Ayala is an architect and spatial planner specialized in the fields of affordable housing and human settlement planning in the Global South.  He is Head of the Department of Urban Socio-Spatial Development at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) and assistant professor at the Erasmus University School of Behavioral Sciences  in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Alonso Ayala main research’s area of interest is the relationship between housing adequacy and housing justice through the application and analysis of the 5 A’s Principles of Adequate Housing: Availability, Accessibility, Affordability, Acceptability and Adaptability. He is involved with BlendEd as a steering group member.

Dr. Darinka Czischke
Associate professor, TU Delft

Darinka is associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology. In 2014 she was awarded the Delft Technology Fellowship to develop her research on Collaborative Housing. She is the founder of the Co-Lab Research group at the TU Delft and co-founder of the working group ‘Collaborative Housing’ at the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR). Since 2018 she serves as board member of ENHR coordination committee. Darinka has published extensively about social, affordable and collaborative housing in comparative international perspective. She is the Chair of the BK-IHS cooperation initiative, within which the BlendEd project has been realized.

Marije Peute
Researcher & Project Coordinator, TU Delft

Marije Peute is a researcher and the project coordinator of BlendEd, since May 2022. She has a background in cultural anthropology and urban studies. Marije has conducted research on collaborative housing for elderly, and has an interest in enhancing the interdisciplinary nature of education on urban topics.

Anja van der Watt
Education & research assistant, TU Delft

Anja van der Watt is education & research assistant for BlendEd and has  a background in architecture. Anja has supported the creation of the BlendEd educational videos.
