Tentoonstelling: If buildings were landscapes

10 juni 2022 00:29 t/m 30 juni 2022 00:00 - Locatie: OOSTSERRE - Door: Communication BK | Zet in mijn agenda

Van 10 tot 30 juni is de tentoonstelling 'If buildings were landscapes' te zien in de Oostserre, georganiseerd vanuit het BK Public Programs.

How do architects design buildings as landscapes? The exhibition at Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment presents landscape design strategies in architecture that Daniel Jauslin analysed in his doctoral thesis (2019). Three case studies are used to analyse the appropriation of landscape strategies in architecture: OMA Rem Koolhaas’ two libraries for Jussieu in Paris from 1992, SANAA’s Rolex Learning Centre in Lausanne from 2004 and Peter Eisenman’s City of Culture of Galicia  from 1999. For the first time, visitors in Paris will be able to walk through the unbuilt OMA-libraries in virtual reality.

Don’t miss Wim Wenders’ 3D film installation with SANAA and their original competition model or the Berlage lecture by Eisenman.

The exhibition originally planned for shortly after the successful defence of the thesis in December 2019 for Delft finally arrives after Zurich and Paris to its academic origins. Additional models of architecture based on landscape design strategies will be lended by Bjarne Mastenbroek, Christian MĂĽller, Diller&Scofidio, Mecanoo, MVRDV, Olivier Scheffer, Vehovar&Jauslin, HolzerKobler with West 8, ZUS and more architects or their clients.
