Machine learning (ML) is now all around us, and it is used in several ways, including automatic language translation and opinion mining (e.g., sentiment analysis). It is no secret that ML is claiming a lot of successes, but its applications aren't quite as robust as they should be. As we will see in this talk, deceiving such systems is easier than you might think. We will cover many different security topics related to already deployed ML applications.
Luca Pajola is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Brain, Mind, and Computer Science (BMCS) school at the University of Padova, Italy. He is currently a member of the SPRITZ group, led by prof. Conti. His research interest includes the security of machine learning tools, analyses of human interactions in web applications, and the development of reliable Intrusion Detection Systems.
