Dear Women of TU Delft, 

How do we learn from our failures? Before we head into the new year, we are most likely going to enjoy some free time during the Christmas festive season. During this time we might have some time to reflect. How is my support network? Did I keep an eye on my mental health? Am I going in the right direction with my work? During a conversation with Professor Jennifer Heemstra we will address these and other topics to give you some food for thought during the email and meeting reduction period of 24 December 2022 to 8 January 2023. 
 
Jennifer Heemstra is Charles Allen Thomas Professor of Chemistry and Chair at Washington University in St. Louis (USA) since July 2022. She has received numerous awards and honors, including a 2021 Rising Star Award from the American Chemical Society. As the new Charles Allen Thomas Professor of Chemistry and department chair, Heemstra envisions a future for chemistry at Washington University that is “all about people".

We will hear her experience as a women in science and we will discuss the joys and challenges in academia and how we can deal in a positive way and learn from "our failures".
