Location: Co-Creation Centre at The Green Village, TU Delft Campus
TU Delft PhDs and Post Docs are invited present posters and prepare short pitches to showcase their research related to urban energy. Llunch will be provided.
Register to attend the event here. Please read the instructions below on how to submit a poster and pitch presentation for the event. Those preparing a poster and pitch must be affiliated with TU Delft. The event is open to anyone interested in getting to know more about the latest research happening at TU Delft on the energy transition in the built environment.
Researchers at all stages of their Phd and Post Doc are encouraged to attend – whether you are just getting started or nearing the completion of your research. The goal of this event is to provide PhDs and Post Docs with an opportunity to meet colleagues working on similar topics in other departments and faculties.
TU Delft PhDs or Post Docs may submit a poster or a pitch presentaiotn. You can also submit both.
How to submit a poster:
- The call for posters & pitch presentations is open to TU Delft PhDs and Post Docs from October 18-November 27. The deadline to submit a poster is EXTENDED to December 1 at 12:00 noon.
- You also have the option to submit a presentation - see the section below for instructions on submitting a pitch presentation.
- Posters can introduce the topic and methods of your research. You may present ongoing or completed research results if this is relevant. The topic of the poster should connect to the themes of the Urban Energy Institute and the institute's mission to support a rapid, just and equitable transition to a carbon-free built environment. The themes include:
- Toward zero energy buildings & beyond
- Fast transition of the existing building stock
- Thermal urban energy
- Solar urban
- Smart monitoring, management and control
- Transforming cities
- Posters must be submitted using the Microsoft PowerPoint template. The size is A0 (841 x 1188 mm)
- Submit your poster to urbanenergy@tudelft.nl in PDF format no later than November 27 at 23:59
- Please name your PDF file in the following way: "family name-short title" (e.g. Smith-Thermal Urban Energy Systems).
- Posters will be printed by the organizers and showcased on poster boards around the Co-Creation Centre of the Green Village. Visitors will be able to walk around and visit each poster. After the event, the posters will be placed on the Urban Energy Institute website.
- A prize is available for most outstanding poster. Posters will be evaluated by judges, and evaluations will be based on their originality, potential societal impact and clarity of the main messages.
- Posters can only be submitted by PhDs and Post Docs affiliated with TU Delft. Researchers outside of TU Delft are however invited to participate as attendees.
- Don't forget, if you're submitting a poster, please register for the event using the registration form.
Pitch presentations:
- Pitch presentations will be given in plenary-format at the Co-Creation Centre at The Green Village.
- The pitch should last a maximum 4 minutes and will be timed. We will offer 1 minute for questions after each presentation.
- A prize is available for most outstanding pitcher. Pitches will be evaluated by judges, and evaluations will be based on their originality, potential societal impact and clarity of the presentation and main messages.
- Pitchers can qualify for 1 credit with your faculty graduate school under a 'learning on the job' activity.
- Please submit your pitch presentation together with your poster no later than November 27 at 23:59.
- There is no template for a presentation. It must be submitted in PowerPoint format. You are welcome to use your creativity!
- Please name your PPT file in the following way: "family name-short title" (e.g. Smith-Thermal Urban Energy Systems).
