Short CV:
Cor Kraaikamp was born in Hilversum, The Netherlands, May 2, 1958. He studied mathematics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), where he obtained his master-title (drs.) in 1986 (cum laude). In the following four years he was Ph.D. student in Amsterdam, and frequently visited Marseille, where he was visiting professor in St. Charles (in 1987 and 1988, each time two months) and Luminy (1999-2000, six months). In 2000 he obtained his Ph.D. ath the University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of Henk Jager. After Amsterdam Kraaikamp was post-doc in College PArk, Maryland, and in Seattle. In 1991 he became assistant professor applied probability theory in Delft. Since 1999 he is an associate professor at the TUDelft. Over the years Kraaikamp has been visiting professor in Tokyo (December 1995), Wesleyan University (winter + spring 2003), and Paris (January and February 2009).
Research interest:
Ergodic Theory, with applications to Number Theoretic expansions, probability theory, with applications to Earth Sciences.
