Taylan Turan

I received my BScs (2016, 2017) in environmental engineering and civil engineering from the Middle East Technical University, and I worked as a project assistant (2017-2018) in the Middle East Technical University Civil Engineering Department. I obtained my MSc (2020) in structural mechanics from Delft University of Technology. My MSc thesis aims to create surrogate models for composite micromodels by utilizing multifidelity information via machine learning.

My current research interests include computational (multiscale) solid mechanics and machine learning/pattern recognition. Particularly, the intersection of these fields where machine learning methods are employed to solve complex mechanics problems.
