Trusted Data Analytics - from bias to trust

This event was organized by Delft Data Science in collaboration with the research groups Web Information Systems and Multimedia Computing of TU Delft.

How can data science be used in a trusted manner by scientists; reproducible and generalizable outside of the lab? How do data technologies impact consumers, e.g. via filter bubbles? What is the effect of encoding bias in automated decisions and regulations for private companies and public organisations? 

There were presentations by representatives of research groups and companies. Speakers such as Alan Hanjalic (TU Delft), Simone Stumpf (City University of London), Engin Bozdag (Philips), Magdalena Wojcieszak (University of California Davis. Moreover there were a panellist by the speakers and two extra members Daan Odijk (RTL) and Rene Penning de Vries (Team ICT).
