Hardware orders delayed

There are currently problems with supplies of numerous products worldwide. Perhaps the most well-known is the acute shortage of semiconductors (chips).

Major manufacturers such as Dell and Apple have been struggling with delivery problems of their products for some time and is due in part to;

  • Transshipment and transportation problems due to high demand for containers
  • Shortage of chips for most hardware
  • Increased fuel prices mean that ships sometimes sail at half speed resulting in delays in transport
  • Shortage of raw materials

As a result, delivery times for hardware sometimes run up enormously. In particular, hardware that is not standardized at TU Delft sometimes takes months to deliver. Delivery problems are expected to continue well into 2023.

Anticipate longer delivery times, order on time and as much as possible within the TU Delft standard. Together with our supplier, we are doing everything possible to speed up orders. We have noticed that it is also becoming increasingly difficult for us to meet demand. Therefore, order your desired products on time and don't wait until the last minute to purchase hardware.
