Insurance

The Dutch Healthcare Insurance Act obliges all residents (and those who are not living here but who are working in the Netherlands and are subject to Dutch income tax) to take out basic insurance to cover medical expenses. This obligation differs depending upon whether you are employed by TU Delft or a guest.

If you carry out paid work in the Netherlands, you must take out at least basic health insurance with a Dutch insurance company. In order to take out this insurance, the InOf will make an appointment with an employee of SUCSEZ B.V. for you after you arrive in the Netherlands.
SUCSEZ represents the interests of all TU Delft members of staff. Its consultants can advise you on your choice of package, care allowance, mediate if you have a problem with an insurer, and also answer any questions you may have regarding claims, waiting-list mediation and compensation payments.

You can download the brochure on the compulsory health insurance (possibly in your native language) here.

Everyone who resides in the Netherlands is required to take out insurance to cover medical expenses. Depending on the length of your stay, your age and other factors, you can maintain the insurance you have in your home country; otherwise, you must take out basic health insurance in the Netherlands.
So that you receive the right information, the InOf can make an appointment with an employee of SUCSEZ B.V. for you after you arrive in the Netherlands.
