Education

Within the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering many students work on Aviation Design projects. In our education we have several possibilities which are stated below.

Bachelor Elective

Service Design Process

Service Design Process is an elective course students can choose during their Master programme. In small groups the students work during 10 weeks on an assignment designing services for a client company. In 2013-2014-2015, the client company was Zodiac Aerospace in collaboration with KLM. In 2014 the team “Sensing the transition” from 2013 was awarded the Crystal Cabin Award, a renowned International prize of the Aviation Industry. In 2015, team “Enable” was one of the finalists of that same prize. Christine De Lille and Froukje Sleeswijk Visser are the course coordinators.

Joint Master Project

During 5 months, a team of 5 to 6 students collaborate together on an assignment from a company. The team of students is composed of students of all three kinds Master students at our faculty. The students are supervised by staff members.

Graduation Project

During 6 months, an individual student works on an assignment for a company. Two staff members coach the student during the project. Main aim is to let students experience working in an actual work environment on their own project for their Master thesis.

Design Strategy Project

Design Strategy Project is an obligatory course for all our Strategic Design students starting each year in November. The students work in groups on an assignment of a client during 3 months. Past years the client companies have been amongst others: Philips, Eneco, Rabobank and Daimler-Chrysler. In 2015, 120 students will be working on a variety of assignments for KLM. For more information on the course contact Christine De Lille.
