A hand-held device was developed which can make interaction with virtual objects more natural and real. The function of this haptic pen is to give it’s user local force-feedback when touching a virtual object and emulating the objects elastic properties.
Goals of the project
The Haptic pen is the result of a project done by students in the Minor Advanced Prototyping where an aim is to create prototypes on different levels of functionality depending on what is needed. During the project students had to work and decide on functional design, form giving, component selection, test scenarios, determining good feedback signals, building and demonstration.
