Design Engineering, Design for Sustainability
Jotte is a PhD candidate at the Design for Sustainability section. After having received her Bachelor’s degree from the IDE faculty in Delft she moved to Italy to follow courses on service design at Politecnico di Milano. For her Master’s degree she returned to the TU Delft and specialized in Strategic Product Design. Her graduation project was on a product innovation centre for the Terra Cotta industry in central Vietnam. Next to that, she gained experience in the field of service design at the Service Innovation Team of Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and experience in the field of open innovation at Bax & Willems consulting venturing in Barcelona.
Currently she is working with Professor Han Brezet and Dr. Marcel Crul on a project on sustainable consumption in Vietnam: Get Green Vietnam!. The fact that the middle class of this emerging country is growing fast, brings along rising issues of sustainability. Together with a the local partners in Vietnam she is developing and applying methods to contribute to a more sustainable consumption pattern in Vietnam and other emerging economies.
Her background in different (design-)fields and her experience comes from different countries reflects her interest in interdisciplinary and inter-cultural projects. Her expertise lies in strategic design, service design, behavioural change and sustainable innovation.
