MSc. Barati, B.

Bahareh Barati is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.

Academic Background

I was born and raised in Iran. I did my Bachelor and Master’s in Industrial Design at University of Tehran. In 2009 I moved to the Netherlands where I did my second Master’s in Integrated Product Design (IPD) at Technical University of Delft. My graduation project on 'Designing a set of probes to improve perceptual qualities of apparels' was selected as the best graduation project of IDE faculty in 2012.

My PhD started in association with Light.Touch.Matthers, a EU project, with the aim of supporting designers in co-developing a smart material composite. Since then (Feb 2012), I have been busy with theoretical and practical studies to understand the process of designing with technologies. My hope is to find clues on how the process and the design can be mutually improved and eventually demonstrate the findings in tangible forms.
