Phil holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Manchester (UK) and completed his MSc in Environmental Management for Business at Cranfield University (UK). He is an alumni of the Schmidt-MacArthur Circular Economy Fellowship, whereby he researched the feasibility of reusing WEEE materials for 3D printing. He subsequently supported the Better Future Factory (NL) to bring this idea to market producing 100% recycled 3D printing materials. Phil is also an alumni of the Climate KIC PhD programme for sustainable production systems for a circular economy.

Phil has previously worked with the High Speed Sustainable Manufacturing Institute (HSSMI), a not for profit research organisation within the UK, as a circular value chains research engineer. His work and research projects included the feasibility of circular business models, development of circular economy tools to support businesses, recovery of value from waste and economic analysis for remanufacturing and circular value chains. Phil assisted HSSMI’s strategy, project development and delivery for research areas incorporating; the circular economy, Industry 4.0, distributed and urban manufacturing systems at UK Innovate & EU H2020 levels. His previous experience includes business development for Ecometrica (UK) developing SAAS solutions for environmental mapping and carbon calculation.
