Biography

Ellemieke van Doorn is a PhD candidate at the department Design Engineering, section Computer Aided Design Engineering. Ellemieke works as man-machine interaction specialist at Rijkswaterstaat, the executive body of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. In her PhD research she studied deficiencies of current support for operators’ situation awareness in nautical traffic management context. Her current research focuses on the question to what extend a context-aware self-adaptive user interface can provide improved support for operators’  situation awareness. Her PhD project closely interacts with the Rijkswaterstaat ‘Traffic management of the Future’ innovation project.
