Stephanie Gieles is lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.
Academic Background
Stephanie is a “teacher of practice” at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, and founder of design studio "Stephanie Gieles Interieurontwerp”.
She graduated the IO-master in Aesthetics with Jim Hennessy, redesigning a paper-restauration-lab for the Rijksarchief Limburg.
She discovered that she could add great value to the work of architects, as an expert in the human experience and interaction with space.
In 1995 she founded design studio "Stephanie Gieles Interieurontwerp” and worked with many well known architects. She became an expert in re-vitalisation of monumental buildings, balancing between modern human spatial comfort and respect for the historical context.
In 2005 she started coaching design students at the TU Delft, and in 2016 she joined the department ID-Design Aesthetics as a “teacher of practice” to continue to inspire and getting inspired by students.
