Biography
Athanasios (Thanos) Polyportis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. Dr. Polyportis’ research interests involve a variety of areas such as consumer behaviour, marketing, sustainability and design, circular economy, innovation, emotions, appraisal dimensions and economic psychology.
Athanasios received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Marketing and Communication, Athens University of Economics and Business, summer 2020. During his Ph.D. research, Athanasios was a visiting researcher at Radboud University as well as an adjunct Professor in Marketing for University of Derby. He also holds a M.Sc. in Marketing and Communication, Athens University of Economics and Business (2015). Prior to that, he received (2011) a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, undoubtedly the most challenging engineering school in Greece. He has received national and European (NSRF 2014-2020) funding for his research.
He is currently working on interdisciplinary research pertaining to sustainability, consumer behaviour and responsible innovation, behavioural change, marketing and research methodology.
