In addition, TU Delft and BE-Basic Brazil offer advanced education programs on science and technologies relevant for innovation for a biobased economy. This human capital development is essential for both The Netherlands and Brazil.
For Brazil the focus is on graduate and post-graduate courses for academic and industrial participants, jointly organized with our key academic partners, such as the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Where possible, these courses will also be embedded in education programs, if applicable as part of dual degree arrangements with our Brazilian partners.
Based on an inventory of existing advanced courses, interest and future work force demands, an education program has been defined covering technical topics such as biothermodynamics, metabolomics and soil ecology, but also communication & policy, technology transfer and entrepreneurship. More information about this BE-Basic education program, coordinated by TU Delft, can be found here.
The collaboration provides excellent opportunities for valorisation of IP and business development to both Brazilian and Dutch partners. Combining knowledge in different, multidisciplinary areas, such as feedstock production, infrastructure, and technology development is necessary to realise a global biobased economy which offers large business opportunities. Our joint efforts on human capital development have been identified as crucial for business success.
