Modeling and Parameter Identification of Carbon Black -Filled Rubber for Crash Simulations
This thesis presents the development of a material model and ﬁnite element modeling speciﬁcations of carbon black-ﬁlled natural rubber bearing and mount material for crashworthiness simulations. The focus lies on the improvement of in house simulation results as well as the investigation of required steps for future models. Even though scientific advances enable a representation of most mechanical properties of elastomers through phenomenological or micromechanical models, the implementation into FE-software poses challenges. For the special case of crash simulations, strain rate effects and mechanical behaviour at large strains are important, since high velocities and large deformations are to be expected.
