Parametric design and optimization model for monopile foundations with GFRP tower
In this thesis project, a parametric design and optimization model for monopile foundations with GFRP tower is developed. Tools for the analysis of the natural frequency, yield and buckling constraint are implemented in the model. The maximum loading on the structure is determined using a quasi-static load analysis method and is compared with time-domain simulations. Analytical solutions for the yield and buckling analysis of the composite tower are used, and are verified using FEM and semi-analytical buckling analysis tools. A genetic algorithm is implemented for the integrated optimization of monopile, transition piece and composite tower.
