Finding the trim points of the ICE model using interval analysis
An interval analysis box consistency algorithm is applied to the thirteen control effectors Innovative Control Effectors model to find enclosures for its trim set. When using a few control effectors so that no redundant control power is available single trim points can be tightly enclosed. Furthermore it has been shown that interval analysis is capable of finding enclosures of continuous trim curves. be tightly enclosed. Furthermore it has been shown that interval analysis is capable of finding enclosures of continuous trim curves.method finds bounds that are too wide to accept the bounds as trim set, with the remaining accelerations being as large as 0.5 m/s2 for linear motions and up to 10 deg/s2 for rotational motions. Further research is needed to exploit the full potential of interval trim methods so that the results can be used for other purposes such as flight envelope prediction.
