Startup Voucher & Coaching Programme
Do you have an innovative idea and want to kick-start your own company? Do you need funding to build a prototype and some coaching in the process of developing your own business? This is possible through the TU Delft ‘Startup Voucher’, which fulfills one of the main valorisation goals: stimulating and supporting entrepreneurship.
With the Startup Voucher & Coaching Programme, the faculty of Aerospace Engineering aims at scouting, creating and supporting more startups. By lowering the financial barrier AE students can develop their innovative idea and turn it into a business. The Startup Voucher tries to bridge the gap between graduation and pre-incubation, such as LaunchLab facilitated by YES!Delft. The basis of the Startup Voucher is that TU Delft invests a maximum of € 2.500,- in the production of a prototype, or for the making of a ‘proof of principle’ for new technologies. This idea needs to be research based and the voucher must be used to develop a concrete result.
Do you have what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur? Starting a company requires more than “just a brilliant idea”. In order to guide you to the next step on this exciting but also challenging road, the AE faculty offers some first coaching and networking support already in the earliest phase. Twice a year, a maximum of five teams are selected to start the Startup Voucher & Coaching Programme. In the near future, we hope to be able to give the Startup teams work spaces in our faculty Innovation Lab.
The AE Startup Voucher is available for BSc/MSc students and PhDs at the Aerospace Engineering Faculty with a research based innovative and scalable idea (related to an AE subject) and an ambition to start a startup. In order to minimize delay in study/promotion progress the target group is narrowed down to:
- MSc students with the entrepreneurship annotation;
- Graduate students (BSc/MSc): applications will be assessed in line with the graduation project of the applicant. The supervisor and track coordinator of the applicant will be consulted in the selection process;
- Graduated students (BSc/MSc) and PhDs within 6 months after graduation/promotion.
When applying you should be able to make the synergy for both TU and startup clear. Furthermore, a reasonable level of entrepreneurial skills and attitude is expected from the applicant. For more inspiration and updates on the current voucher teams you can also visit the interactive blog on startup-lr.weebly.com.
Applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas to the selection committee.
Your application will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Does the application meet the programme objective and target group criteria?
- Ambition to launch a start-up, entrepreneurial skills and attitude
- Novelty, technical feasibility and commercial potential of the idea
- Project approach and planning.
A maximum of one Start-up Voucher per project can be approved.
When your application has been approved, a contract will be sent to you:
