Drone Safety

A collaborative effort between Structural Integrity & Composites and Air Transport and Operation research group is looking at establishing and quantifying drone risk by advanced modelling. The project “Safety and risk modelling and analysis of very low level RPAS (drone) operations” looks at the sociotechnical system of drones with the aim to quantify the risks that are involved. The SIC project part focuses on the impact and damage which can the resultant from drones. Impact tests and FEM modelling is part of this project.
