I really recommend joining one / several associations to broaden your horizon and get the most of what Delft has to offer.Adrien Ninin
Hello, my name is Adrien Ninin, I’m from EPFL, Switzerland and I studied Mechanical Engineering at TU Delft from September 2017 to July 2018. I like Kitesurfing and sports in general. I did my 3rd year of Bachelor here, at the 3me faculty, but keep in mind that most of the bachelor courses are taught in Dutch, however, it is manageable to follow master courses if you work well.
I choose to come to Delft for several reasons, but the mains are the renown of the school and the location, as well as the opportunity to improve my English. I found the life in Delft really enjoyable, it is a really pleasant town. Courses are well organized, even though it can be confusing to get familiar with the administration. Besides studying, the area offers a lot of activities. It is easy to join them through the numerous associations present within TU Delft.
On the cultural side, the Dutch are really open-minded and easy going. This year offered me the opportunity to meet people from all around the world. I was living in a shared flat with 12 other exchange student, it was a great time discovering the different cultures.
I was surprised by how easy it was to join in any activities and getting involved in all kind of activities. I really recommend joining one / several associations to broaden your horizon and get the most of what Delft has to offer.
During my time abroad, in learned a lot about myself, it is an amazing experience and I believe Delft is the perfect place, offering plenty of opportunities to develop and enjoy yourself.
