The MSc programme in Applied Earth Sciences (AES) comprises a total of 120 credits in two years. Credits are earned from taught coursework and a research project culminating in a thesis. The aim of the programme is to teach upcoming generations how to locate, extract and process the earth’s resources while retaining a keen sense of sustainability. Economic and environmental issues at national and international level play a prominent role. AES engineers are knowledgeable as well as being scientifically and technologically skilled. They approach problems and complicated issues in an imaginative and resourceful manner and can work and assume leading roles in complex and changeable professional environments in the Netherlands and worldwide.Beyond the MScYou will find AES graduates in the oil and gas industry, contracting and engineering firms, operations and finance, and petroleum-related sectors all over the world. Some study for a PhD, again at universities all over the world. Others find employment in consultancy and other sectors.
