Cooperation with Industry
The department of Imaging Physics is one of the founders of the Medical Delta – a network of life sciences, health and technology organisations based in the enterprising Rhine Delta region of the Netherlands. It brings together a rich body of knowledge and experience and acts as a catalyst for health innovation and cooperation.
Dutch Optics Centre is an initiative of TNO and TU Delft aimed at boosting Dutch industry in the field of optics and opto-mechatronics to increase the utilisation of Dutch science through joint R&D.
QuTech – a collaboration founded by TU Delft and TNO – is an advanced research centre for quantum computing and quantum internet. It addresses scientific challenges as well as engineering issues in a joint centre of know-how with industrial partners.
Microsoft Station Q Delft is focused on the research and development of the topological superconductor–semiconductor devices that form the basis of a quantum computer.
The research departments have many research collaborations with industrial partners – such as ASML, Carl Zeiss, Corus, FEI, Intel, Mapper, NXP, Philips, Shell, and Thales – and with not-for-profit non-academic knowledge/research organisations, for example ECN, HollandPTC, NFI, NMi, TNO.
The following start-up companies are linked to the research departments: AquaBattery, Delft Circuits, Delft-IMP, Delmic, Elemetal, PHYSEE, Single Quantum, Tocano/Inkless, and VSParticle.
