Orientation: Study-abroad

This orientation is intended for students who did their Bachelor’s in the Netherlands. It consists of a semester (30 ECTS) at a foreign university doing a project and/or taking modules, and is an alternative to an industrial internship. It is tailored for, for instance, students who intend to do a PhD after completing their Master’s. To enable you to complete the MSc programme within two years, it is best to do your study abroad in the spring semester of your first year.

The structure of the MSc Applied Physics programme with the Study-abroad orientation:

As an alternative: complete the 90 ECTS core programme including the thesis project in 1.5 years and finish the Master’s programme (for example with a research project) at a foreign university.

If you start your Master’s programme in February and opt for this orientation, you will do your study abroad during your first semester.
