Career prospects

Landscape architecture is emerging as one of the most promising disciplines of the built environment for which the Netherlands has a good global reputation. Landscape architects work on the planning and design of residential, industrial, recreational, agricultural, natural and infrastructural landscapes.

They are employed by agencies specialising in landscape architecture, and by interdisciplinary architecture, urbanism and engineering firms. Government agencies also employ landscape architects in planning, design and policymaking positions and as project leaders and researchers (graduate school). Graduates are well placed to find employment in these fields.
