HBO degree

Admission and requirements

Since there is no Bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences in the field of Nanobiology, a Bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences does not qualify you for admission to the  Master’s degree programme in Nanobiology. If you are interested in completing the Master’s degree programme in Nanobiology, you will first need to do a University bachelor’s programme in a closely related field with potential bridging programme, or apply to the Nanobiology Bachelor’s programme.

Remediation of deficiencies

The Master’s degree programme in Nanobiology is a multidisciplinary programme with mathematics, physics and biology as core subjects. In order to start the Master’s degree programme in Nanobiology, you will first need to complete a supplementary programme in order to bring your knowledge to the required level for each of these subjects. Due to the multidisciplinearity of the programme we require a solid background in university mathematics (calculus, linear algebra and differential equations), physics and molecular biology.
The supplementary programme (or bridging programme) for the MSc programme is always customised, and can be completed after your studies at the university of applied sciences. Most customised bridging programmes for students with a Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences will take approximately 2 years to complete. If you have any questions, please send an email to Info-MSc-NB@tudelft.nl.
Entrance examinations in Mathematics and English must be taken before the start of the programme (or the bridging programme). For additional details, see www.tudelft.studielink.nl.

Expected knowledge

The MSc programme in Nanobiology builds on students’ broad scientific knowledge and research skills. University-level knowledge in mathematics, physics, biology (including Molecular Biology), organic chemistry, and programming, is essential for success.

Applicants with knowledge or skill deficiencies will be required to overcome these to be eligible for the programme. Applicants coming from a Dutch university are eligible to address these deficiencies with a bridging programme.

If you are a graduate (or about to graduate) from a Dutch university and want to discuss your application and whether you would need to do a bridging programme, please complete the Knowledge matrix as best you can, and send it and your list of completed and planned courses to Info-MSc-NB@tudelft.nl
