Research facilities

Besides the standard ICT facilities that are common in a university environment, the Delft Center for Systems and Control (DCSC) has a well-equipped laboratory and technical support staff. A number of experimental setups in the laboratory are available for both education and research (hydraulic platform and motion simulator, BMW test vehicle, tyre test bench, robotics lab, adaptive optics setup, wafer stepper, STM positioning stage, atomic force microscopes and manufacturing H-bridge).

The laboratory infrastructure is shared with the departments of Biomechanical Engineering (BmechE) and Precision & Microsystems Engineering (PME). Many of our research projects are performed in cooperation with (industrial) partners, often at experimental facilities that are outside the direct vicinity of our own laboratory. These include, for example, experimental crystallisation processes at the department of Process & Energy (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), oil reservoirs at Shell production sites, and waste incineration plants and adaptive optics systems at TNO.
