Force Elektro

Founded in 1993, Force Elektro is the student Ultimate Frisbee club of Delft. We offer Ultimate Frisbee on all levels, having recreational teams along with our first team which became national champions in 2019! No matter your current level, you're welcome at Force Elektro to play Ultimate Frisbee.

Force Elektro has several open, ladies and mixed teams participating in the national Ultimate Frisbee competitions. Next to playing competition, we also send teams to various national and international tournaments each year and we host our own tournament Rising High every year. Next to that, we organize various beginner leagues. We offer plenty of opportunities to play Ultimate Frisbee.

Force Elektro isn’t just about Ultimate. We also organize lots of great activities, so if you are looking to make new friends next to playing Ultimate Frisbee, Force Elektro is the place for you. Also, more than half of our members are international students, so you can be sure to feel at home among us!

What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport. It involves strategy, speed, skills and a lot of running.

The goal of Ultimate frisbee is to catch the disc in the end zone of the opponent. This can be achieved by passing the disc around between you and your teammates. Walking with the disc is not allowed, you can only pivot around one foot after catching the disc. You have 10 seconds each time to throw the disc. Your defender will count them out loud. If the disc touches the ground or the other team catches or intercepts it, the defending team gains possession and will try to get the disc to the other side for a score.

Why should I play it?

A remarkable thing about Ultimate frisbee is that there is no referee. The players need to call fouls and violations themselves. That’s why a good spirit and knowledge of the rules is very important in Ultimate frisbee. After each game, the spirit of the game is discussed with the opposing team in a so-called spirit circle.
